Thank you from Ethiopia

Below is a thank you note from the ministry in Ethiopia whom we partnered with this past October.

Dear Citylife Church,

Thank you so much for all the wish list items you collected for your team to bring to Ethiopia. We were completely out of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, adult vitamins, and ibuprofen. Our beneficiaries are so happy to have these things available again. And if you come on a future team you’ll probably recognize some of your old clothes being worn by our beneficiaries and their kids.

Thank you for partnering with us to care for the “least of these.”

Sincerely,

Linda Swallow
for the MTW team

Pray for our Ethiopia Team!

On Saturday, 10/8 a team of 8 will be departing from Boston to head over to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to partner with the Ethiopia AIDS Care and Treatment Project.  This will be the 7th year in a row that Citylife Church has sent a short-term missions team to Ethiopia.  The team will return to Boston on Saturday, 10/22.

This year’s team members are:

Tim Chang
Hobin Chi
Sara Costa
Qing Gao
Warton Hertz de Oliveira
Sarah Hwang
Soojin Oh
Rob Yuen

Please be in prayer for our team in the following ways:

Pray for team unity.  We met as a team for 5 training sessions and recently had a team dinner, however we are still learning more and more about each other’s stories and lives.  Pray that we may grow closer as a team and function as a team.  Pray that if any conflicts arise, that we would be quick to forgive and to seek reconciliation.

Pray for the health of our team.  Ethiopia is still considered a developing country and many of the resources that are readily accessible in the US are not as accessible there, e.g. medical care, utilities, safe running water, etc.  Please pray for our team to have wisdom in caring for our own bodies as well as each other.  Pray for quick recovery and perseverance if illness afflicts any team member(s).

Pray for our team as we go through customs in Ethiopia.  Our team will be carrying many essential donated goods and supplies to support the beneficiaries of the project.  Pray for a smooth process through customs and if questions are asked, that the officials may be gracious and allow our team to continue into the country with these donations.

Pray for opportunities to share the gospel with the many beneficiaries of the project.  Pray that God may give each of our team members discernment into knowing how to best understand and enter into their story, engage their worldview with questions, and to ultimately retell their story with that of the gospel.

Pray for a spirit of humility for each of our team members.  We are all going to Ethiopia to serve and to support the missionaries and indigenous staff members there.  Pray also that we may be flexible to be ready to do whatever is called upon us.

Thank you for your support!  If you are also interested in supporting us through finances, you may do so by making a donation via Paypal by clicking on the Donate button below:

Thank you for your support!
